Seeing that that the Norman Raid  happened in 1066,  many inborn English words have been lost, or have become less widespread. This word-hoard is a bid to spur the brooking of more true English words rather than ones from Latin or other outlandish roots. My word-hoard book, when it is ready at last, will let you look up words, and help you pick words that come from Old English, other words from Germanic tongues,  and words that have sprung up from English itself instead of words with Latin or French roots.
